Brenda is the heart of our workplace wellness group at Bush Refrigeration. You can usually find her cheering on her friends during the workout, and even encouraging them to grab heavier weights. She brings the sunshine to the basement for every workout. Over the past few months, she has been on a mission. Brenda recently won the 21 day workplace lifestyle challenge.  I completed a pre and post body scan on all participants. Brenda’s muscle increased by 4% and fat decreased by 3.6%. Her hard work is paying off, as she continues to drop inches from her arms, waist, and thighs. Oh, and did I mention she can hold a plank for four minutes!? Check out what Brenda had to say during our interview!

I would like to thank the following people because with out their support I wouldn’t  be where I am at right now. Alex – Thank you for allowing the employees to join the workout team and providing the right tools for the training sessions. Mary Ann – Thank you for getting the BEST trainer that there is that pushes us to be better. Thank you for also sending the healthy meals emails to help us reach our goals. Damaris -Thank you Comadre for helping me get started in this new journey. Jenai – Thank you for showing us different ways to increase our energy level and different work out sessions, and everything in between, LOL, YOU ARE THE BEST!

1. What has changed since you started working out?

I can proudly say that my energy levels have increased, my body has been changing a little and is getting toned. I’m noticing muscle lines forming and fat decreasing all through my body. My confidence level has increased a little more and I will continue working out to improve my fitness level.

2. What are some of your favorite workout movements?

Definitely NOT Squats or Burpees, LOL, but I am willing to try pretty much any workout to achieve my goal to look and feel healthier.

3. What other lifestyle changes have you made since we started the workplace wellness program?
There has been a few changes since I started working out.  My eating habits are definitely getting better. I have been trying to eat more protein and decrease the sugar. I continue to work out through the weekend and I even have my kids join me so they can get into a GOOD routine. I want them to have a better lifestyle and improve their health because as a Mom we always want the best for our children. My kids and  family members are proud of me for striving to be a better me.

4. What are you most proud of?

I am proud that I have overcome my negativity level. I used to think that I couldn’t do certain things when in reality I can do whatever my heart desires. You just have to continue to fight until to meet your goals.

5. What is your next fitness goal?

My next goal is to continue working out and to maintain healthy eating habits. Sometimes in life we get stuck in a mindset of not caring and you just let yourself go. This mindset will cause me to lose focus and be right at the same stage I was before.
